Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and am hoping someone may have some advice for me regarding moving and working in Kefalonia.

Im hoping to come over at the begining of May to look for a room/studio in or around Lassi and a part time job cleaning/chambermaid in a hotel/apartments or car rental company for the summer?

Really hope to get to know you all (when forum is busier), also looking forward to meeting any expats from the UK when I move over!

Thanks and look forward to hearing back from someone x

Kind regards

i love greece x

    Hiya,

I'm doing the same thing (apart from the work bit as I'm self employed). Any luck with the long term rental yet & any tips if you're sorted?
Roll on May !

Cheers.

Hiya, thanks for your reply. When will you be in Kefalonia? What work do u do self employed?

Im a bit gutted as I found a job in Lassi and was in telephone contact with my would be boss when he flipped at me for asking if I could bring my laptop and did he have internet access I could use! From there I realised maybe it was a stroke of luck I found out what crazy & unstable man he was before I had the misfortune of working for him!!!!!

I am now going to Crete on May 1st to stay with a friend for a few weeks to see how that goes, but my heart is still set on Kefalonia!

Where in the UK are u from? If you use msn, PM me your hotmail and maybe we can chat sometime soon.

Thanks again, look forward to hearing from you x

The island of Kefalonia forms a key ingredient of the Grecian tourism. Situated in the western periphery of the Greek waters, the island is also the largest among the cluster called the Ionian Islands, with an estimated area of 350 sq. miles. Kefalonia is widely known for its sea resorts, mountainous landscape, ancient monasteries and a thriving countryside, thus making it out the most sought-after destination for the holidaymakers and property buyers both.

For working in Kefalonia, you will need to show your passport and other relative documents such as a residence card. If you intend to work legally here it is still a requirement here on Kefalonia. You need to go the Police station with relevant documentation. Also Several passport photographs should be taken before going anywhere else, you will need them for several things as well.
