keffalon there are football teams and a league in Kefallonia, unfortunately I do not know 2 much about them. My friend Stavros who owns the supermarket in Poros (the one down the side street next to the dried up riverbed) is the goalie for the Sami team.  He is regularly accompanied to the games by Mike (an english guy who lives in Poros). You will often find Mike in Vanessa's restaurant in Poros. If Mike is not there Jo who owns the restaurant,  will be able to tell you how to contact him.

See this website http://www.epski.gr.

It's all in Greek but it's the web site of EPSKI, the Enosi podosfairikon somateion kefalonias kai Ithakis. If this confused you means : UNION OF FOOTBALL CLUBS OF KEFALONIA AND ITHACAClap
here is all the photos of teams http://www.epski.gr/teams.asp

and here is a very rich photo gallery http://www.epski.gr/photogallery/default.asp

it contains photos of footballs club since 1905

hope that helped.

hi, i visit skala and i know most of my friends there support olympiacos. they are based on the mainland though, but i was told the football teams in kef are not really up to scratch and was encouraged to support olympiacos as i am a big football follower myself! ive seen a few games and they are a pretty decent team, so when my home team liverpool arent playing or when i am in greece i am an honoury olympiacos supporter!!!!
My family used to live in Greece, and i have been informed football is not quite as serious as we take it here in england!

also i found that basketball is pretty popular on the island!

Kefalonia is a Brit Island, so if you do not want bars with football and you want to meet other foreign holiday makers this is the perfect place for all these sporting activities.
There is also a five a side football court and a basketball court. These courts are just two hundred meters from the seafront. If you prefer to play in the cooler evening you can turn on the flood lights for any mega event in this destination for sure.
