Kefalonia has two hospitals, one in Lixouri and the larger onein Argostoli, which has a full range of services, the care in bothhospitals is to a high standard. Kefalonia also has a wide variety ofspecialist Doctors surgeries. In Greece, medical records are kept bythe patient not the doctor.

At Argostoli you will find Pharmacies as well as one of the two Hospitals of the Island. The other one is at Lixouri. The General Hospital of Kefalonia is the largest Medical facility of the Prefecture of Kefalonia and Ithaca. There are several other smaller medical units throughout the islands, the Sami medical center, the Ithacamedical center and 13 Regional medical centers, that subside under thisfacility.

The General Hospital of Kefalonia provides medical attentionand services of high standards, something that can be certified by thenumerous citizens that are being treated on a daily basis. Themanagement board of the General Hospital believes that the daily efforts for upgrading these medical services must be its basic concern and is committed to this effort.
